2011 BMW M3 Pickup

The presence of the BMW M3 Pickup be a surprise BMW M for his fans. Global Introduction of the BMW M3 on Nordschleife Pickup performed (Nürburgring), 1 April 2011.

The BMW M3 Pickup has undergone extensive testing on the Nurburgring, and even though we do not have an official lap time yet, the automaker informs that this baby can reach speeds of up to 300 Km/h.

The M3 pickup comes with a 309 kW/420 PS (414 bhp) power plant and a rear payload capacity of 450 kg - which sounds realistic enough. It's cd quotient (aerodynamic flow) in the wind tunnel is the same as on the M3 Coupe and its top speed is 300 km/h (186 mph).

Press Release

Unique: BMW M GmbH Develops The World's Fastest Pickup.

Drive and suspension technology from the BMW M3 - comprehensive testing completed on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife - 420 hp and 450 kg load capacity - world premiere on 1 April 2011.

Following the BMW M3 Coupe, BMW M3 Convertible and BMW M3 Sedan, a fourth body variant of this globally successful high-performance sports car is about to cause a stir. Under the strictest secrecy, the world's first high-performance pickup has been created at the BMW M GmbH development centre. The sportiest example by far in this vehicle category, the BMW M3 Pickup will fire the imaginations of all motorists with a deep appreciation of top performance matched by a keen practical bent. 309 kW/420 hp under the bonnet and a rear-axle load capacity of up to 450 kilos take the hallmark BMW M relationship between race-oriented driving pleasure and everyday utility to an entirely new level. This unique vehicle has already completed extensive test and set-up drives on the Nürburgring's Nordschleife in advance of its global unveiling on 1 April 2011.

With this vehicle, BMW M GmbH once again furnishes evidence of its exceptional competence in developing and building high-grade, individual dream cars. With a high-revving V8 engine at the front, a generously sized load area behind and a removable Targa roof above, driver and passengers in the BMW M3 Pickup will relish an unprecedented take on the familiar M feeling. Yet this spectacular new development is unmistakably recognisable as a member of the BMW M3 model family. Corroborating this kinship are not just the inimitable power of the engine, but also fine-tuned aerodynamics and a tailored suspension set-up. Measurements in the wind tunnel at the BMW Group's Aerodynamic Test Centre showed a Cd factor on a par with that of the BMW M3 Coupe. Like every BMW M model, the BMW M3 Pickup has also demonstrated its dynamic potential on the North Loop of the Nürburgring. Official lap times have not yet been released, but the needle in the dial vouched for a top speed of 300 km/h.

The kerb weight of the world's fastest pickup undercuts that of the BMW M3 Convertible by around 50 kilograms. Removing the Targa roof shaves off a further 20 kg while at the same time lowering the car's centre of gravity.

This most unusual experience of top-down driving pleasure in a BMW M3 thus goes hand in hand with further optimised dynamic handling.

The practical features of the BMW M3 Pickup are no less impressive. Maximum load capacity has been raised to 450 kilograms. The load bed of the BMW M3 Pickup is clad in high-grade structured aluminium sheeting and provides the biggest cargo capacity ever offered on a BMW M vehicle. In terms of the unit of measurement generally applied to premium automobiles, that gives the loading area of the BMW M3 Pickup the capacity to carry up to 20 standard 46-inch golf bags. What's more, the BMW M3 Pickup is the first BMW M3 variant in the 25-year-plus history of this model range to come with a trailer tow hitch.

Notwithstanding these unquestionable stand-out qualities, the BMW M3 Pickup will not be heading for the golf course or series development, but will retain its status as an exclusive one-off. It is earmarked for use as a workshop transport vehicle for BMW M GmbH. With this in mind, the current BMW M3 Pickup - unlike a similar predecessor built back in the 1980s - has gone through the requisite procedures to earn its road certification. Which makes it officially a truck - but one that puts a whole new spin on the meaning of the word.

BMW 6-Series 2012

Given that the first examples of BMW’s new 6-Series Convertible will begin arriving in dealerships this spring followed by the Coupe model in the fall, it doesn't come to much of a surprise that tuners have started working on their packages for the Bavarian GT. After the announcements from AC Schnitzer and Hamann Motorsports, it’s time for Prior Design to preview its tune for new 6er.

The German tuner is keeping mum on the details but the teaser images reveal a new bodykit that includes an M-style front bumper with a spoiler lip, hood scoops, front fender air vents, side skirts and a rear bumper that incorporates a diffuser. The blacked out grille kidneys and alloy wheels plus the bespoke exhaust tail pipes round of the visible changes.
There’s no word yet if Prior Design’s tune includes any performance upgrades but the German firm said it will come out with more details soon.

2011 BMW X6M Typhoon S by G Power

BMW car maker with the patners has unveiled new tuning packages makes reference natural disaster will debut in Japan thes days, it’s named 2011 G-Power X6 M Typhoon S and alse certainly has no connection to the tragedies in Japan.

The TYPHOON S features a wide-body kit that enables an increase in cooling performance of up to 15%. The car sports the now G-Power iconic elements: large air intakes, dual air vents on the bonnet, carbon fiber parts and oversize 315/25 ZR 23″ tires.

Under the hood, the G-Power Typhoon S BMW X6 M is powered by the standard 4.4L twin-turbo V8, which has been upgraded to produce a whopping 715-hp with a maximum torque of 656 lb-ft. That allows the G-Power Typhoon S BMW X6 M to run from 0 to 62 mph in 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 186 mph.

At the interior, the Germans prepared high quality materials such as leather and Alcantara. However, the most important improvements can be seen under the bonnet where the 4.4-liter V8 unit gets extra 170 horsepower. In conclusion, the BMW X6 M Typhoon S is able to deliver 725 horsepower and 890 Nm of torque.

Press Release

G-POWER is proud to present one of the world's most powerful BMW X6 M models. The X6 M modified by G-POWER boasts a TYPHOON S body kit, a titanium exhaust system and an output of 725 hp.

The TYPHOON S body kit, derived from the TYPHOON wide-body kit, enables an increase in cooling performance of up to 15% for the 4.4l V8 twin-turbo power unit in the BMW X6 M, paving the way for an increase of 170 hp in base output, taking it to a formidable 725 hp.

G-POWER X6 M TYPHOON S

  • 725 hp / 533 KW @ 6,000 r/min (+ 170 hp / 125 kW)
  • 890 Nm from 1,500 r/min (+ 210 Nm)
  • Top speed > 300 km/h
  • 0-100 km/h: 4.2s
  • TYPHOON S aerodynamic package: starts at € 6,990.00 (net)
  • G-POWER performance increase for BMW X6 M: starts at € 13,526.05 (net)

The first thing that stands out about the G-POWER X6 M TYPHOON S is the redesigned front skirt that completely replaces the original part. Designed to emulate the G-POWER TYPHOON wide-body kit, the front skirt with large air intakes delivers the characteristic aesthetic of the BMW X6 M. The carefully honed profile also facilitates a reduction of aerodynamic lift on the front axle. Another factor in the balanced look of the X6 TYPHOON S is the G-POWER bonnet made entirely from carbon-fibre. Equipped with a central Venturi-effect engine bay vent for cooling while in motion and two lateral ABS grilles for stationary ventilation, it ensures improved dissipation from the engine compartment of hot air generated by the two turbochargers.

The G-POWER add-ons to the standard sills provide a visual transition between the wheel arches, which are filled with forged 3-part G-POWER SILVERSTONE RS aluminium wheels measuring 11x23 and 12x23 inches (also available in 22-inch). When it comes to tyres, G-POWER sticks resolutely to 315/25 ZR 23 high-performance rubber from its development partner Michelin. They deliver optimum traction and sporty handling that is further enhanced by G-POWER sports springs and a stance lowered by 30 mm.

The package is rounded off at the back of the G-POWER BMW X6 M TYPHOON S by the diffuser made entirely of carbon fibre. It provides the perfect frame for the 4 x 125 mm tail pipes on the G-POWER titanium exhaust system, which are also made from carbon-fibre.

In keeping with the dynamic look of the BMW X6 M TYPHOON S, G-POWER also offers a suitably impressive power increase to 725 hp. Thanks to the enlarged air intakes in the front skirt and the vents in the bonnet, there is an increase in the flow of cold air to the water and oil coolers at the front of the vehicle. This improves their cooling performance by around 15% each, forming the basis for a thermally stable power increase using one the electronic optimization techniques developed by G-POWER to modify the engine mapping, including removal of the top speed limiter. On the exhaust side, a full stainless steel G-POWER system (also available in titanium) delivers the necessary reduction in exhaust gas pressure. Alongside the use of sports catalytic converters, this is largely attributable to the flow-optimised G-POWER exhaust manifold. Optimised connecting channels also run between the turbochargers and cylinder heads to minimise pressure and shock losses. The outcome is an additional 170 hp, taking the total output to a formidable 725 hp at 6,000 r/min and 890 Nm of torque as of 1,500 r/min. The maximum torque is electronically limited in order to avoid overloading the standard transmission. In combination with a reinforced transmission, a maximum torque measuring an immense 1,000 Nm can be realised.

The enormous power potential of the G-POWER modified BMW V8 twin-turbo power unit imbue the X6 M with performance levels that catapult it into the very upper echelons of its class. The sprint to 100 km/h takes just 4.2 seconds, while top speed is more than 300 km/h.

If required, G-POWER can finish the interior to individual specifications with handmade leather and Alcantara upholstery.

The TYPHOON S aerodynamic package is available starting at € 6,990.00 (net) excl. installation at G-POWER in Autenzell. Pricing for the 23-inch G-POWER SILVERSTONE RS wheel set with MICHELIN tyres is € 8,865.55 (net) and the G-POWER power increase to 725 hp incl. full stainless steel exhaust system and modified connection to the turbochargers starts at € 13,526.05 (net) excl. installation (titanium exhaust system optional).
